Starting 11 vs Liverpool
With one pre-season game to go, Pellegrini must just about about his first 11 in place. What would yours be? From what I've seen and what it's worth I'd go (obviously 4-2-3-1):

Adrian - one mistake and Fabianski is in.

Fredericks - think he might start Zaba though and gently ease Fredericks in...

Masuaku - one big mistake and Creswell is in.

Ogbonna - still questions marks in back 4, but deserves to start in front of Diop.

Balbuena - star in the making.

Rice - star in the making.

Noble - better than the other options.

Anderson - at £40m he has to start.

Wilshere - best passer of the ball we've had in years.

Yarmolenko - looks quality.

Arnie - 16/1 to come in top 4 prem scorers = buying money.

Subs:

Incredible selection to choose from, must admit I would be tempted to start Antonio over Yarmolenko if he is fully fit and firing.

If we can move on Kouyate, Oxford, maybe even Obiang and add another defensive midfielder to the mix we'd be looking great.

Could be a strange season...Arsenal & Chelsea with new managers, Mourinho already writing off Man Utd, Spurs not signing anyone and playing in a new ground, Man City not signing anyone other than Mahrez...all 6 missing half their first 11s until now. Big chance for an outsider to get some points on the board early and get a bit of momentum....

I just hope we don't break our own record as being the most "too good to go down" team to go down...

Re: Starting 11 vs Liverpool
I agree... that is our best line up.

Masuaku is streets ahead of Creswell though... he will make mistakes at RB (but then so will Creswell) but he offers so much more going forward.

Personally I would rather 'score one more goal than you' than worry about a clean sheet and I think / hope that Pellegrini thinks that way too.

Should be a more exciting season than the last two at least!

Pelle seems to like Snodders. I'm not sure where he would fit in though.

Masuaku is a liability in a back 4, still not sure about our CH’s either.

Masuaku (Cresswell when fit)
Noble
Wilshere
Rice
Anderson
Snodgrass

First time I can recall NOT orobably recognising all of our current first team.
Was once a time from photograph could name entire First Team and reserves.

Modern Football ??

I have MISGIVINGS about Masuaku still mysteriously being considered a full back - we may not score enough to make up for it, especially against this lot away.

Cheers Sydney - knew I’d miss someone. He would replace Snodgrass when up to speed most likely.

Yarmalenko, Shmarmalenko - oy!

Re: Starting 11 vs Liverpool
Kidders, why would Yarmolenko need to be 'up to speed' when Fredericks, Balbuena and Anderson do not?

Re: Starting 11 vs Liverpool
Looking at Snodgrass's wiki page shows he's always been a fans favourite at his previous clubs prior to arriving here. Only at West Ham has he been regarded as 'shit'. Probably ill considered comparisons with Dimitri Payet being the reason. If Pellegrini has decided he is a useful player to have around he must see something he likes, possibly as a regular sub for Yarmalenko and Anderson, who are bound to attract rough treatment in the PL.
Snodgrass lacks pace but he is a crafty professional no doubt about it.

Trevor B - because Pellegrini said so, he also said Anderson as well but there’s no way our record signing will be benched.

Bit of a 4-3-3 cos I think we'll need an extra body in the middle cos Anfield is a tough old place to go.

"Man City not signing anyone other than Mahrez"

I assume you are saying that as it shows a sign of weakness?

No, they will win it again.

Kidders

haven't seen that from the manager, although i find it hard to believe that he thinks that our 40m and 20m wingers won't be 'up to speed' but our 3.5m south american defender will be, don't you think?
